Timber Boardwalk Replacement

Ordanga replaced over 540 metres of boardwalk that leads to the iconic Champagne Pools in the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island (K’gari).

Little did we know that lumping timber for metres on end over the hot sand and wind blown landscape was going to be so hard.

Overcoming all logistical planning when working in a remote site including the closure of the island due to Tropical Cyclone Oma and the evacuation all staff for a 2 week period, didn’t stop us from delivering the project on time and on budget.

The collaboration between the Butchulla people, Parks & Wild Life and Ordanga made the process both rewarding and educational.
